    1. You need 2 passport photos, application form and the copy of your passport and the visa which you want to link your re entry permit.

  1. Can I have my visa extended at Thai Immigration Pattaya while I am there instead of the one in Bangkok? My visa expires on the 7th of September and I’ll be at Pattaya on the 5th. Most important question I have is if the visa gets done the same day.

    Your reply is much appreciated.

    1. You can extend your visa at any immigration office if this visa is a tourist visa or extension based on tourism. If the visa is based on marriage or retirement, you must extend it at immigration office of the province where you currently reside.

  2. I have a retirement visa and wish to get a new Thai driving license as mine has expired a long time already. What is the procedure and what do I need to obtain a Thai driving license?

    1. You must check the requirements and the process directly from the Ministry of Transport in your province in Thailand.

  3. My retirement visa expires on the 6th of August. I am renting a condo at the moment. Can you tell me exactly what paperwork I need from the landlord. I have my rental agreement. I think I need to get a copy of Chanok is rhat right? I will get letter and updated bank details to prove the funds. I will have a map of where I live. 2 photo’s and my passport copies. Is there anything else?

    1. The requirements will depend on the immigration office where you will submit your documents. Generally, the same requirements submitted during your initial application will be asked from you except that the bank account must have 800,000THB for at least 3 months prior to the application for renewal. Please get in touch with the immigration office near your residence for assistance.

  4. Thank you for reply. I have one more question: before I had a problem with ED visa, troubles with close IN Thailand and then go. How about Non-B? I need to close this visa here in Thailand or I need just go outside of Thailand and it will be closed? Then just applying for new visa. This is right way?

    1. As soon as your work permit is cancelled, you must leave Thailand within 7 days. Then your visa will be cancelled as well. Once you have a new employer, you can apply for a new Non Immigrant B visa.

  5. Work Permit (book) will be possible to use if i will change my NON-B on Tourist visa for a moment? And then when i back to NON-B, i can use my Work-Permit (book) with new or latest job? Book until 2017.

    1. You will not be able to use your work permit if you are on a tourist visa. The work permit is only valid if you are still working for the same employer. Otherwise, it should be cancelled. Once you have a new employer, you will need to obtain a new work permit showing your new company and position.

    1. Kindly contact Jomtien immigration to inquire if they will be able to assist you with the visa application otherwise, you will need to apply through a Thai embassy or consulate in your home country or a neighboring country.

  7. I intend to visit Thailand on a U.S. passport visa exempt entry, to try to see if I can open a Thai savings account, as I am confused whether the bank account comes first or the 90 day non immigrant O visa.

That is my first question, which is first, bank account so I can show the 800,000 Baht deposit, wait two months and then apply for 90 day Non Immigrant O Visa, with the year extension after that.

Second question if I am successful in opening either a Thai Baht savings account or a FCD account, do the funds have to come from overseas via wire transfer, or can I deposit in cash as I intend to visit Thailand before the time I apply for the 90 day Non Immigrant Visa?

Lastly, can I use the services of your company for the process?

    Thank you. Great information site.

    1. If the bank will allow you to open an account with just a 30-day visa exemption stamp, then you can do so. Otherwise, you may need to obtain the 90-day Non Immigrant O visa beforehand.

The money that you put into the account can be wire-transferred or deposited in cash as long as you are able to show that the money came from sources outside of Thailand.
